Girls aloud, purple power and C-list heaven

I had a fantastic night last night – despite the fact that I’m paying for it today, to the point that I vomited on the train this morning during my commute (I’m so glamorous).

When an invite to help celebrate the launch of the new Samsung F210 Purple landed on my desk, I couldn’t

contain my excitement. One, because the promise of free champagne and the possibility of a goody bag containing a mobile phone was to good to miss and two, because the launch also featured a private performance by my one and only guilty pleasure – Girls Aloud. I love nothing more than a drunken dance and screechy sing-a-long to their album, and my girlfriends agree, so much so that my friend (and soon-to-be bridesmaid) Debbie came all the way from Southampton to join me.

Taking place at the úber-cool Sketch on Conduit Street, all decked out in colour-of-the-moment purple, the launch was nothing short of brilliant. Champagne flowed, tasty canapés – including mini hamburgers and battered prawns – constantly danced past, gorgeous suited men scurried about showing off the stunning new Samsung (I WANT one!) and the kind of celebrity-spotting on offer that a reality TV fan like myself would lap up. It’s amazing how excited you can get about seeing a Big Brother contestant after several glasses of champers. In fact, me and Debs got so merry we had a little competition going over who could get snapped with the funniest ‘celeb’ (I managed the BB twins, and she topped it with Sinita.) I also managed to snag a quick pic with the lovely Gok Wan of How to Look Good Naked fame – who I love!

Girls Aloud were fantastic – they look stunning in their purple dresses and sang live throughout, proving they can really carry a tune as well as perform. Their half hour set was littered with all the old favourites as well as a couple of new songs, and the giddy crowd drank it all up. Once the girls had finished, me and Debs hung around to sample the exclusive purple cocktails and dance our little hearts out to the top DJs. Sadly, there was no goody bag featuring the super-stylish Samsung F210 Purple, but you can’t everything!
