My mom has sciatic nerve damage from having two back surgeries, so she has constant pain in her legs and feet. These are the only shoes that have helped ease the pain. She has tried expensive name brand athletic style shoes and she still had to add extra support and they still hurt her feet and legs. She can wear these shoes as they are, without adding extra support, because they are so comfortable for her. These would be perfect for anyone who is on their feet most of the time or those who have problems with their feet, legs, and back... I ordered these hiking shoes right before a week in the Smokys, so they came out of the box and went immediately on the trail. They were absolutely the most comfortable hiking shoes I've ever worn. It rained some while we were on the trail and the shoes had great traction, even on slippery, wet rocks. I also ordered these same shoes for my daughters in the youth sizes. Their shoes performed equally well in the mountains. In fact, they prefer them to their tennis shoes at home.
