The bumpy texture of the bottom (sole) feels good on your feet. Love these shoes - just wish they had an AAA. They are so comfortable that I find myself wearing them all the time. I really wanted them in bone, but no 10 1/2 was available in that color. I will ask to be notified when they are available in bone so that I will have 2 pairs. I got the camel color which is actually more of a subdued yellow. I would have liked them a bit narrower as I must velcro them all the way over which detracts from the appearance of the shoe. It is just high enough to look cute and flattering, and is so comfortable I want to wear them all the time. I said to myself $50 for flip flops, but my feet say thank you every time I slip them on.
