I addition, the striped fabric around the heel and the Sperry label are even more sources of irritation. My mom has sciatic nerve damage from having two back surgeries, so she has constant pain in her legs and feet. These are the only shoes that have helped ease the pain. She has tried expensive name brand athletic style shoes and she still had to add extra support and they still hurt her feet and legs. She can wear these shoes as they are, without adding extra support, because they are so comfortable for her. These would be perfect for anyone who is on their feet most of the time or those who have problems with their feet, legs, and back... I ordered some other platform shoes on Zappos (RSVP and Type Z) and had to return 3 pairs of them because they were stiff, uncomfortable and had a very steep rise. Although these are more expensive than those other brands, they are well worth it! They fit beautifully and are gorgeous!! The insole left my feet feeling fresh, even after a full day of teaching. A great shoe for anyone who's on their feet all day. So far, the padding has not lost its bounce. I had misgivings about toe loop, but so far, so good. Copper is a great color and will blend in with any color outfit I will wear. Very comfortable. Also Zappos is heads and above a first rate company. Customer service is superb and I am very impressed with how customer satisfaction is truly a priority. These are expensive for a reason. They are very well made, have a great look, a comfortable footbed, and a sturdy sole. However... they cut my heels open every time. I wish I could get used to them as I've heard you're supposed to, but they are just painful. Very disappointing. Africa, hoping to have a walking sandal that could withstand hours on the road. However, I have found that the footing is slippery and my foot slides back and forth, making walking unsteady. I would not recommend this sandal for walking, but it is comfortable otherwise and attractive.
