However, the second time I wore them, I yanked the straps on the side (which are known as bootstraps for pulling them on) and the stitching ripped. Not a big deal. I can drop them at the shoe store to get it enforced, but I shouldn't have to go through that with brand new boots. They are slightly tight on the arch, but I do have a very high arch. The steel toe goes unrecognizable, which is important during wear. The leather is nice and besides the straps, the construction is nice, but original Drs were much nicer. I would recommend the boot, just be careful pulling them on and off! || Ambiguous - Fairlaine L/S Shirt (Pew) - Apparel Vans black & white puzzle pieces - My son loves these shoes!!! He has several pairs of Vans. He says "they are comfortable and they look cool". I think all the different prints let them express their individuality. We actually bought a white pair a couple of months ago for a school function. After the function was over, I let him decorate his own. I ordered these hiking shoes right before a week in the Smokys, so they came out of the box and went immediately on the trail. They were absolutely the most comfortable hiking shoes I've ever worn. It rained some while we were on the trail and the shoes had great traction, even on slippery, wet rocks. I also ordered these same shoes for my daughters in the youth sizes. Their shoes performed equally well in the mountains. In fact, they prefer them to their tennis shoes at home. My ONLY complaint would be lack of an arch support. These are still way better than my $1.99 flip flops!!! Oh, and the part between the toes, great! I addition, the striped fabric around the heel and the Sperry label are even more sources of irritation. I have them in yellow. Nice low heel, soft and comfortable, perhaps a little low cut across the toes for me. || Ambiguous - Fairlaine L/S Shirt (Pew) - Apparel Best Hiker I've Ever Owned - I have wide feet and find most work and walking boots unsatisfactory for working in the mountains where we live. The Hi-Tec has proven to give me stability, traction, and comfort whatever I'm doing. Work or play, in it all day, and it's wonderful. I love it and bought a second pair for when my first pair wears out.
