If you are patient enough to reconfigure the lacing on these, you've won half the battle. I probably wouldn't have had to work so hard at adjusting them had I paid attention to the other reviewers who stated that the shoes run VERY LARGE. They do. Definitely order a size down from your usual. The insoles on these are incredible, they really do feel like walking on marshmallows after you have worn them for a few weeks. I get stopped constantly by people wanting to know where I got them. Still, the lacing is a pain and in order for the shoe to fit correctly, you pretty much have to work on it to some degree every time you put your feet in them. If these didn't have a back and were just a slide, it would eliminate that. I have never worn them for water sports, but they are very grippy on pavement, rocks, clutch pedals, you name it. The insole is great, they are a unique-looking shoe, but overall pricey for what they are. || Ambiguous - Galaxy S/S Button Down (White) - Apparel DP King 2 - Shoe is a great red color. Sole is not as flexible as other Donald Pliner shoes, so they do not bend a much when you walk. As such, I would not classify this as my most comfortable pair and I actually got some small blisters the first time out. Decor on sides of shoe sole is impressive. I read the reviews about ordering the shoe a half size larger than my actual shoe size. There's no denying that the price tag is a little head-spinning, but the fit of these shoes is so divine and they are so seasonless, that I know I'll wear them often and for years. I can truly imagine trekking all over a city in these; they are that comfortable. And the metallic gunmetal is incredibly liquid and eye-catching; literally, I have never worn these shoes without receiving multiple compliments.
