They are made of comfortable, stretchy fabric. The waistband is not too low or too tight, plus the length is very flattering. I love the comfort-I didn't use to wear this style because I hated how they felt-not the case with these. They take a little getting used to because of the rounded sole but my legs feel like they are getting a better workout when I walk (especially feel the muscles in my quads). The only complaint that I have is that my toes feel a bit tight (the shoes are definitely not too small; my toes just sort of feel pushed toward the front of the shoe). I teach 2nd grade and have had bunion surgery and I was able to wear this sandal all day (no break-in time). Very cute shoes, good heel height, but if you have a narrow heel like I do, these fabric sling backs will slip. I tried placing Foot Petals Strappy Strips inside but they didn't stick. I happened to looked down after wearing them for a few hours and saw the strips hanging down. Not a good look! They also cut me a bit across the toes. I didn't think that would be an issue at all as they are stretch fabric. Overall, not all that pleased with this purchase. I was in Santa Fe recently and saw a woman wearing them. I wanted a pair, shopped around on line and ordered them from my very favorite online shoe store: Zappos. They are comfortable but can look dressy enough to wear when dressed up.
