Super comfortable, very cushy soles. I don't find the rubber toe separator uncomfortable at all, but I am also a seasoned flip-flop wearer. My big problem with these sandals, however, is that THE GLITTER ALL RUBBED OFF! I bought them a year ago, wore them like crazy last summer, but all the glitter rubbed off during that time. I didn't do anything unusual to them, like wear them in water or wash them. Was concerned about ordering because I wear a wide width shoe, but these were plenty wide. They are fabulous! My legs or feet never were sore! Great arch support. I love the look of these shoes, but since they are so high, my foot slides down and squishes my toes. They are 4 inches, not 3.5. The criss-cross hurt my toes. I live in sandals during the summer, but it's hard for me to find designs that are rugged yet feminine enough to be able to wear with skirts and dresses. These are perfect - strappy and lightweight, but can withstand running around on gravel, grass, sand...you name it. I do agree with the reviewers who mention that the foot bed on this is rather flat. Within 30 minutes of putting them on, both of my heels were raw & bleeding. I had worn them for brief periods in the house & did not anticipate this problem. These are probably the best board shorts I've bought. It's true to size and not too long. I like the zipper fly which you don't get with most shorts. I was in Santa Fe recently and saw a woman wearing them. I wanted a pair, shopped around on line and ordered them from my very favorite online shoe store: Zappos. They are comfortable but can look dressy enough to wear when dressed up.
