If you are patient enough to reconfigure the lacing on these, you've won half the battle. I probably wouldn't have had to work so hard at adjusting them had I paid attention to the other reviewers who stated that the shoes run VERY LARGE. They do. Definitely order a size down from your usual. The insoles on these are incredible, they really do feel like walking on marshmallows after you have worn them for a few weeks. I get stopped constantly by people wanting to know where I got them. Still, the lacing is a pain and in order for the shoe to fit correctly, you pretty much have to work on it to some degree every time you put your feet in them. If these didn't have a back and were just a slide, it would eliminate that. I have never worn them for water sports, but they are very grippy on pavement, rocks, clutch pedals, you name it. The insole is great, they are a unique-looking shoe, but overall pricey for what they are. || Beverly Feldman - Guilded (White/Gold) - Footwear I love this shoe! Merrells are always great. My son would rather wear them than gym shoes. It's the first pair he grabs even if we are going out for dinner. My problem was the toe box. I ordered up a 1/2 size and the shoe started flopping off. I'm mailing back the 1/2 size and keeping the original shoe I ordered. I'm hoping they will stretch. They have an excellent heel and can even be worn to work. I was thinking about those rainy days. Pumas and I have some problems with fit. If you don't, I would recommend this shoe. || Beverly Feldman - Guilded (White/Gold) - Footwear Cute shoe, but not quite as comfortable as hoped - I was looking for a sandal that would be cute, yet comfortable for lots of walking. This sandal fits the cute requirement perfectly, but isn't the great walking-around shoe I was hoping for. The footbed seems a bit slippery so my heel wants to slide off occasionally and the hard sole means it is useless if the ground is wet or in any way slippery. Despite its short-comings it is a cute and relatively comfortable sandal, so I'm keeping it - just not for the role I had hoped. || Beverly Feldman - Guilded (White/Gold) - Footwear Great shoe - Beautiful soft leather, great looking, love the silver heel, not too high. Order one size up for all Onyx shoes. I am a teacher and on my feet all day long. These shoes are amazing. Comfortable and good looking! I highly recommend them.
