I've had ankle surgery and find it hard to get shoes that are comfortable. These are the first pair of sandals since my surgery 3 years ago that I can wear all day. Wore them at the beach and couldn't ask for a better shoe. They did rub a small blister because they were wet. Once they dried, not another problem. Great shoe. I've got 2 pair and would like another!!! || Birkenstock - Alabama (Cortina Black Leather) - Footwear Excellent cushion footbed - I had been eyeing these sandals for a long time and finally decided to order them. I was pleased with the look. The picture does do it justice. My true size is 9 medium width. After reading the reviews, I decided to get a wide width because most said the sandals ran narrow. So I ordered a size 9 wide and it was still too narrow for me. I loosened the strap to the last hole which did help a little, but it still didn't feel wide enough. Also, when you walk the shoes make a swoosh noise (air). If these would have fit me really well, I probably wouldn't have cared about the noise. I love the look of the sandals, but I ended up returning them. I love ZAPPOS though! || Birkenstock - Alabama (Cortina Black Leather) - Footwear Great shoe, tricky fit. After reading reviews that this shoe runs a full size smaller than marked, I ordered a 7 when I typically wear an 8. At first the 7s felt great, but then I walked the dog around the block and came home carrying my shoes rather than wearing them. Ouch! I had blisters for days. I love the look of the shoe so much, though, that I exchanged them for a 7.5. What a difference! They look great, feel like slippers, and no more blisters. I have to be honest… when I first saw them, I wanted to send them back. They look too big and kind of clunky on your feet, even though they're very lightweight, but once I put them on and wore them for about an hour, I was in love. I then heated them as recommended and I have to tell you, they are the most comfortable flip-flops I've ever worn. I'm sure I'll be buying more colors soon! I still wish they looked a bit more streamlined. They are the true workhorse in my shoe wardrobe. I bought them to take to Italy last August for a BackRoads cycling tour of Tuscany. They were the perfect "stylish" walking shoe and provided wonderful support. I received these shoes about 3 weeks ago and can't stop wearing them. They look great from jeans to casual looks. Comfort, great fit and look! These have a great base to them, so provide support in a 'today' fashionable look. I ordered a size 7, knowing that I might need to return them for a 7 1/2, but didn't need to - they fit perfect.
