I addition, the striped fabric around the heel and the Sperry label are even more sources of irritation. I was looking for a light weight mesh sneaker that would hold my orthotics and these are just perfect. Had several foot surgeries and my foot still swells after prolonged standing. The toe box has plenty of room both side to side and up and down. The mesh seems to have more give. Ok - I think if you wear large sizes, this style may not complement your feet. I took them out of the box and the first thing I thought was "ugh - these look big and really wide". I need wide shoes for my bunions and I wear a 6 - they look and feel great, so this style rates a "5" for me. The wedge is supportive and I love the nubbies; just enough for massaging while you're walking. However, I don't think these sandals are for everyone. Yea sure it was a great shoe until I started wearing it. The hemp bamboo thing did not work out.
