The cork used is 100% renewable and sustainable harvested from the Oak tree. The harvesting of the cork does not harm the Oak Tree and allows for new bark to grow back beginning the life cycle all over again. Each contoured footbed will molds and shapes to your foot with the heat of your body creating a custom footbed that supports and cradles each and every step. The heel is just the right ht...not too high and not too low. If you wear a Euro 39, you should buy their 40, which translates into a 10! Other than that, I highly, highly recommend them! || Birkenstock: Birkenstock Accessories I have trouble walking in tall heels. The platform under the forefoot enables me to wear these shoes. I love them! Very true to size! || Birkenstock: Birkenstock Accessories A great sandal to capture the gladiator trend - Really soft supple leather makes for a comfy sandal that feels good first wear and capitalizes on the trend. No arch support so I was a bit heavier on my feet in this one and ultimately the need to fasten two buckles made this one not for me. (Though I did realize only needed to adjust the top one to get in and out of the sandal.) Cute on the foot too, but definitely accentuated my foot which I decided wasn't my goal for this one. Good for casual day due to the heel. || Birkenstock: Birkenstock Accessories Female's Opinion - Much better than Rainbows – I have very wide, duck feet. So when shopping for flip-flops, I nearly always head for the men's section. These flip-flops are simply superb! I normally wear a 7.5-8 in Women's sizes and I bought these in a Men's 8. They fit the bed of my foot perfectly, the arch support is fantastic. I bought these to replace my Rainbows (which hurt my feet after an hours wear) and they're a huge improvement. My only gripe is the thick strap hurts whenever I move forwards.
