They are made of comfortable, stretchy fabric. The waistband is not too low or too tight, plus the length is very flattering. I have to wear flats most of the time and this shoe looks so sharp without being a high heel. I get a lot of compliments on it. The only thing I was a little concerned about that it stretches quite a bit. Normally Geox shoes don't do that. These shoes are not only good looking but also extremely comfortable right out of the box. The leather straps are soft and don't rub or cut into the foot. And they are available in extra wide, which is extremely hard to come by! Got these in yellow - it's a bright canary yellow just like the photo… and they are fabulous! Compliments all around - but not for the shy and retiring. The lightweight canvas (and colour) make them the perfect spring/summer boots. Love this sandal, it is cute and oooh so comfortable, very sturdy, and well made. Break in was a little rough as I don’t normally wear a thong sandal, but it was not unbearable. I'm very happy with this shoe. I looked and looked for a GOLD sling that was not too high and would still be good looking. This definitely fit the bill.
