Birkenstock![]() For those who spend a lot of time on their feet, Birkenstock shoes and sandals have set the standard for comfort, support and function for decades. The Birkenstock reputation for comfort comes from their unique, flexible and fully repairable footbed. A standard design in the entire collection, the Birkenstock footbed follows the contours of a healthy foot and renders feet in their natural walking position. From old favorites in fresh colors to new styles and materials, this latest Birkenstock collection offers the best in functional, comfortable footwear. Even after 200 years, we've never lost sight of a simple fact: the shape of the shoe should match the shape of the human foot. It's why we make footwear that allows yours to relax and breathe. With features like contoured cork footbeds, deep heel cups, and ample toe room. It's footwear that provides more than mere cushioning. It nurtures and supports the sole. And everything you do. So, no matter which sandal, clog, or shoe you choose, it will match your foot. So you move more naturally. The way nature intended. 1. Why do Birkenstocks offer such great support and comfort? Birkenstock contoured footbeds are created to match the shape and curves of a healthy foot. That's why every one of our styles has an anatomically designed heel cup and pronounced arches. These natural contours promote even weight distribution essential to balance, good posture and circulation. 2. Why do Birkenstock feature a "neutral" heel in their products? High heels throw your body off balance by forcing the weight of the body onto the forefeet, which were not designed to support such weight. Birkenstock styles feature a neutral heel to alow feet to rest in their natural position. Our neutral footbed allows the heels to rest where they would if you were standing barefoot on sand. Your body remains balanced on the very foot bones that are meant to bear weight. 3. Why do Birkenstock sandals and shoes have a wide toe box? Birkenstocks have a wide toe box that gives plenty of room to bend and flex. Toes play an important role in our ability to walk by maintaining balance and carrying our weight. When the big toe is forced out of alingment(as with pointy shoes) it is unable to provide this essential weight-bearing balance and leverage. Birkenstock keeps the foot and toes in correct alignment.
