Like slippers (with a heel). The heel is just the right ht...not too high and not too low. They take a little getting used to because of the rounded sole but my legs feel like they are getting a better workout when I walk (especially feel the muscles in my quads). The only complaint that I have is that my toes feel a bit tight (the shoes are definitely not too small; my toes just sort of feel pushed toward the front of the shoe). I have bought the shoe in two different colors and get comments on both the red and the green. I would say the Cole Haan shoe overall is true to size. This shoe is no exception. They have a very nice look and make your feet look nice too. I wore them for about 12 hours and did a lot of walking to a restaurant without my feet bothering me. Don't forget to have a pedicure first because your big toe peeps out!
