Katie Holmes flaunts a new fringe
Posted by Jessica Hopper at 15:19 on 30 Nov 2007 Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, fringe, Posh Spice, celebrity hair
Cast your minds back just a few years ago, when fledgling Katie was still ‘that girl from Dawson’s Creek’ (who else hated that show!?) - the shy girl-next-door-type and relatively new to the red carpet… Well, a marriage to Tom Cruise has not only done wonders for her career, it’s done wonders for her look too.

Take That and party

The Take That concert at the O2 arena was so much fun! Those boys know how to put on a show. I arrived a cynic, and left a fan. The backstage area leaves something to be desired, though. The extortionately expensive bar, carpet and blue lighting made it about as rock n roll as an airport lounge.
But back to the matter

Borrowing a designer handbag

Some handbags are so identified with a particular season, they quickly look dated. I’m talking about a Fendi B bag, or a Louis Vuitton Murkami number. Unless you’re incredibly wealthy, buying a new It Bag each season is out of the question. So what’s a fashion-minded girl to do?
One option

Winter footwear crisis solved
Posted by Danielle Radojcin at 17:52 on 27 Nov 2007 Boots, jeans, Repetto, footwear
I’m relieved to say that the threat of a winter footwear crisis, which had been hovering menacingly ever since I noticed Repetto ballet flats can’t be worn with wide-legged Radcliffe jeans (for fear of soggy ankle flap syndrome), has been resolved with last week’s press trip to Paris. Yes, dear shoe

What a gorgeous few days to be in Paris! I arrived on Tuesday morning and for the whole of my three-day stay, the weather was perfectly bright, mild and sunny. Talk of the strike was everywhere – when is it going to end; how will Sarkozy respond; and,

It’s so nice when you get an invite to a launch event that’s just that little bit different – which is where Neutrogena always come up trumps! To celebrate the unveiling of their latest skin-savvy product – the intensely moisturising Everyday Repair Lotion – the lovely PR peeps for Neutrogena arranged an afternoon of festive fun; ice

Oh, to be a girl. This season I have walked around the counters feeling positively green with envy with all of the gorgeous things on the makeup counters. The colours and textures are better than ever before and I admit to having purchased a few extra items to hoard to myself!

Top hats, Lou Doillon and all things denim…. Have I died and gone to jean heaven?

I am a self confessed denim snob. My daily quest to find the ultimate pair of jeans is currently bordering on obsessive. Normally I am far to superior in my tastes to even go down the celebrity denim route…
But when the celebrity is

Christmas shopping made easy

The highstreets are decked with boughs of holly, window dressers are going ga-ga with glitter and it’s only a matter of days before our favourite radio stations swap the latest Kylie offering for Slade. Yes, it’s mid November! Or, in other words, Christmas is getting closer and we should all be thinking about our Christmas shopping, right?

“What could be more wonderful for a woman than to wear a symbol of passion around her neck in the guise of a heart?†Monsieur Saint Laurent used to say. And he believed it. So much so, that the icon of this illustrious Couture House from the very first collection – a precious heart pendant decked out with rubies and diamonds – became his

Look into my eyes…
Posted by John Gustafson at 15:42 on 08 Nov 2007
It has been a while since I have seen something so astonishing that my jaw actually dropped. Yesterday I saw a bloke wearing bunches. Yes – real pigtails. And they were long and dyed deep reddish burgundy. Mind you, they sort of matched the miniskirt he had on. I think the thing that left my jaw flapping was that it was only 6:30 at night and he didn’t

YSL bag changes its name!
Posted by Danielle Radojcin at 11:44 on 31 Oct 2007 handbag, YSL, Muse
Incoming! News from the Paris Yves Saint Laurent press office is that the YSL handbag, which I blogged about so lovingly in my last post, has been re-christened: no longer the ‘Forever’, it is now to be called the ‘Muse Two’ bag.
What’s in a name? No details have been given, but I imagine it to be a marketing ploy. Its predecessor,

I’ve just seen the future, and it’s a Yves Saint Laurent handbag. While it’s not easy to predict with certainty which bags will achieve It Bag status in seasons hence, there are some things one just knows are a dead cert. And the YSL Forever bag, which I saw at their press day
