- Dining room
-
Hope you’re not getting tired of the before and after pictures. This is my craft room (actually dining room) before. My method of making room to work was basically to shove everything up against the wall, and then I’d have room on the other side to sew, craft or whatever. When I got too sick of looking at the stuff, I’d clean it. Here is my mountain. As you can see I’m a bit of a pack rat. I find it very difficult to get rid of things that I’ve made.

- Bathroom Re-do
-
Seems rather lame that my last post of the year would be one about my bathroom. I feel rather odd posting pictures of it all–but I must admit that I enjoy seeing before and after pictures on other peoples’ blogs, so I guess it’s only fair to inflict my pictures on you. So here is the master bathroom as it was in all it’s carpeted nastiness:

We have less than 3 weeks left here, and I’m starting to feel a bit nostalgic about leaving this house. The next few blog entries will just be pictures of our home, so that I can look back here and remember. I’ve seen some pretty awesome looking rooms in blogland, and won’t pretend that my house can compete with any of them. Sometimes it’s good to remind myself that life (and blogging) is not a cool contest. OK. Here goes. This is a before picture

- The Reason for my Absence
-
My life has been one big all-consuming, tirelessly cleaning, scrubbing, sorting, throwing, organizing frenzied ordeal. In short, I haven’t had the time or energy to do much else besides work toward this:
And now that it’s done, I have a few days to catch my breath. Until we unpack it all on the other side.

- Coats for the NonDouchebag
-
Editor’s note: I attempted to finish up this post and publish it on both Thursday and Friday, but on Thursday I binged on turkey and then watched a four hour documentary on the genocide in Darfur (my boyfriend chooses the most uplifting Thanksgiving entertainment), and yesterday I saw No Country for Old Men. Neither of these films proved conducive to writing jokes.

- Can’t blog now

This is the state of my house. Not just in this room–it looks like this everywhere. I’ll be so happy to have all this painting over with. I’ve got about 2 weeks left of this. Wish me luck!Original source here » - Posted in Stardust Shoes |

Ryan, Sonja, Susie, Gail, Anita
These fine people have all ordered what I called fashion moo cards, and more to the point, they have customized a fashion illustration to their specifications. So far it seems that the original idea has not caught on fire yet. I have learned a lot from my first five clients, and so changes are

Some more simple reversible bags (more detailed pictures on my flickr page). I’m in love with the rich earthy colors of this linen. It’s fun playing around with the color combinations, and then getting a hint of something different inside. I feel like I’ve been

- Topstitchery

I remember when I was little, my mom used to make a big production out of topstitching–emphasizing the importance of making sure every line was perfectly straight because any mistakes would be glaringly obvious. I guess that’s always stayed with me, because I

- Breakfast with Daddy
-
Our Friday mornings are reserved for breakfast with Daddy at his cafeteria. That is, if he doesn’t have any meetings before 9 o’clock. We get up early, get our clothes on and head over to his office. It’s been a fun tradition. One that we’ve enjoyed for a few

- A Near Perfect Weekend
-
Spring is my favorite season, but Fall comes a close second. Especially when apple cider, pumpkin pie and donuts are involved. We spent the weekend on our island for the annual apple squeeze. The boys had a blast trailblazing, beachcombing, caramel apple eating,

You know you haven’t updated your blog in a while when you check bloglines to see if there’s a new post from yourself. OK. It really hasn’t gotten that bad…. I have, however, been kind of busy with my new gig and have found that I don’t have a lot of time

I was putting some old magazines in the recyclables the other day when I came across this Sunset magazine. Fabulous looking food with even more fabulous looking wooly hand-knit hotpads underneath. Given the recent cold turn the weather has taken around here lately,

- Spilling the Beans

Remember the cryptic post from early July–the one where I had a secret I was dying to tell, but I couldn’t? Well, finally I can and I’m so excited! A couple of months ago, I was contacted by Kathy Miller from Michael Miller Fabrics. She’d done a search on Dick and Jane fabric to see what people were doing with it and she came across my blog and the little things I was making back in February and March for the baby shower I was helping to coordinate.

- Tweedle dum and tweedle dee

There’s nothing I like more than having new playthings in my sewing room. Here are my new bias tape makers–tweedle dum and his little brother tweedle dee. Also, I finally splurged and got myself the large size cutting mat. I’ve been “making do” with a little
