They are made of comfortable, stretchy fabric. The waistband is not too low or too tight, plus the length is very flattering. Although these shoes were very comfortable, the finish left much to be desired. I was looking for white peep toe shoes to wear to a wedding. Unless you're the bride, these don't really work with other dresses. Just personal taste, but I didn't care for the satin. I ordered a wide and I needed it in the toe box area, but the strap slips just a bit. I used to run in high school and after having a baby tried picking it up again, but wrecked my knees because of the terrible shoes I tried running in. After getting these shoes I have not had one problem with my knees. They are super comfortable and my joints feel great right after the run as well as the next day. I use these almost all of the time on wood trails and they are great for that. The built in stability works great for the uneven paths I'm running on. Would definitely recommend these shoes. Easy on/easy off like a loafer with the styling of a sneaker. Converse shoes are rather flat, so there's not much arch support with these, but there is enough cushioning so that my feet don't ache as terribly as they would with flip-flops or sandals. These have a really relaxed fit around the foot/toebox and they also run rather large. I've been wearing Tsubos for years, but had never seen any that were less sneaker-like than the ones they became known for. The Lavinia's fabulous--it's a cute, simple shoe that's comfortable that I bought it in the other two colors Zappos carries. I replaced the insole with my custom orthotics, which fit perfectly, and wore them all day with no problems whatsoever. I wear them with skirts and jeans, and even got a compliment from a friend who's a high-end designer shoe snob. They seem to run a little narrow, so I don't know that they'd work for wider feet. But they're perfect for me--these are my new favorite shoes!
