I teach 2nd grade and have had bunion surgery and I was able to wear this sandal all day (no break-in time). They take a little getting used to because of the rounded sole but my legs feel like they are getting a better workout when I walk (especially feel the muscles in my quads). The only complaint that I have is that my toes feel a bit tight (the shoes are definitely not too small; my toes just sort of feel pushed toward the front of the shoe). I have had others and bottom line - fit, look, comfort, and durability are superior to any other sandal. I still have my first pair (3 years now) that I use to walk the beach.
