Haven't worn again - am sure I can soften up the toe hold, but the cramp issue may come back. The footbed is very comfortable and the straps secure... as to be expected with Born shoes. Sole is not as flexible as other Donald Pliner shoes, so they do not bend a much when you walk. As such, I would not classify this as my most comfortable pair and I actually got some small blisters the first time out. Decor on sides of shoe sole is impressive. I just returned from vacationing in England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales and never gave a thought to my feet because of the extreme comfort of this shoe. I like its light weight and foot support and would definitely recommend it to others. I have back problems and this shoe provided more relief than I have ever experienced in a walking shoe. They are very comfortable and offer excellent arch support. When I first tried them on, they were a little tight on the toes due to the padding, but after wearing them, they are great. Loved them so much, I bought another pair in a different color! They do make a "whoosh" noise from the air escaping from the padding when walking. Not very noticeable. The color is fantastic...a burnished gold/bronze and very soft supple leather that feels great immediately. Not much to the shoe but really something to look at and just perfect for shorts/skirts as a nicer alternative to flip-flops or with summer sundresses or could even dress up for dinner out in the heat wave we're having. Pricey but seem well made with good materials. Just love em.
