That pretty much sums it up. These are expensive for a reason. They are very well made, have a great look, a comfortable footbed, and a sturdy sole. However... they cut my heels open every time. I wish I could get used to them as I've heard you're supposed to, but they are just painful. Very disappointing. I wore them cave exploring (in water), white water rafting, zip-lining, rappelling, horse back riding, and trekking through the jungle. I ordered a wide and I needed it in the toe box area, but the strap slips just a bit. Ok - I think if you wear large sizes, this style may not complement your feet. I took them out of the box and the first thing I thought was "ugh - these look big and really wide". I need wide shoes for my bunions and I wear a 6 - they look and feel great, so this style rates a "5" for me. The wedge is supportive and I love the nubbies; just enough for massaging while you're walking. However, I don't think these sandals are for everyone. Yea sure it was a great shoe until I started wearing it. The hemp bamboo thing did not work out. The shoe fell apart a few days ago like a couple of building blocks. || Ecco Kids - Gsi Artemis (Toddler/Youth) (Blue Shadow/Marine/Silver) - Footwear Adorable, but awkward fit - I had high hopes for this shoe because it was edgy and toed the line between formal and casual, but the fit was all wrong. The heel width is fine, if a bit narrow, but due to construction of this shoe, my inner heel tends to sit off of the sole. If I were pigeon-toed, I imagine this shoe would fit perfectly. Also, there is no traction on this shoe, which would be dangerous on non-carpeted surfaces such as hardwood floors or tile.
