The footbed is extremely wide, so even though it's marked M/W, it really isn't for medium feet at all. The strap falls much lower on the ankle than is obvious from the picture, adding to the clunkiness. "Dark brown" is a muddy grayish-tinged brown under fluorescent lighting. I can't speak to the comfort because I had them on my feet for about five seconds before I packed them away for return. I do like Born, but the Gale is a miss in my book. || Fila Kids I have trouble walking in tall heels. The platform under the forefoot enables me to wear these shoes. I love them! Very true to size! || Fila Kids AWESOME shoe! I've had ankle surgery and find it hard to get shoes that are comfortable. These are the first pair of sandals since my surgery 3 years ago that I can wear all day. Wore them at the beach and couldn't ask for a better shoe. They did rub a small blister because they were wet. Once they dried, not another problem. Great shoe.
