Suggest the synthetic version for the beach or to get wet. Needless to say, i have a hard time finding comfortable shoes. These are expensive for a reason. They are very well made, have a great look, a comfortable footbed, and a sturdy sole. However... they cut my heels open every time. I wish I could get used to them as I've heard you're supposed to, but they are just painful. Very disappointing. My husband has somewhat wide foot and he was hurt after wearing them for an hour. However he liked the look so much he wanted to try one more day. And it worked he has very comfy shoes now, he is playing street hokey twice a week in them and his mates liked them a lot too. Overall it was a great choice; just work them out for a couple days if you have wider foot. I rarely wear heels and was able to dance all night in them! These are very comfortable and the wider heel was great for support and ease when either walking down the aisle or dancing on the dance floor. Zappos customer service was great also, as they originally didn't have my size, but assured me that they would before the wedding date...and sure enough they came in plenty of time.
